Love Letter #94: You Can’t Make the Moment More Full

Do you keep a bucket list?

Let’s talk about something that’s been buzzing around in my mind – the concept of a bucket list. It’s that list of experiences or achievements you want to tick off before you, well, ‘kick the bucket’. But here’s a thought: Do we need a bucket list to live a fulfilling life?

What if that bucket list is only a distraction from living fully in the moment? What if it’s simply in the way of us being present to the fullness of this moment, now?

Here’s the truth – life is unpredictable, and while planning can be exciting, it can also be limiting. Sometimes, the most magical moments are the ones we never saw coming, the ones that sweep us off our feet when we least expect it.

The Fullness of the Moment

Have you ever been so engrossed in an activity, a conversation, or even a quiet moment of reflection that time seemed to stand still? That’s the beauty of living in the present. When we immerse ourselves fully in what we’re doing, we don’t need a checklist to tell us we’re living our best life.

Each moment, no matter how mundane or ordinary it may seem, has the potential to be extraordinary. It’s all about perspective. By focusing on the here and now, we can find joy, meaning, and fulfillment in the simplest of things.

Breaking Free from Expectations

By not having a bucket list, we free ourselves from the pressure of meeting certain expectations or milestones by a certain age. We permit ourselves to explore, to experiment, and to enjoy life on our terms. It can also intensify FOMO (fear of missing out) and leave you feeling like you’re not living life to the fullest.

Instead of chasing after experiences that society tells us we should have, we can create our unique path filled with moments that resonate with who we truly are. It’s about living authentically, embracing our passions, and following our intuition.

Embrace the Unplanned

Some of the most memorable experiences in life are the unplanned ones. The spontaneous road trips, the unexpected encounters, the serendipitous moments of connection – these are the experiences that enrich our lives in ways we could never have imagined.

So, the next time you find yourself thinking about what to add to your bucket list, why not pause and ask yourself: “What can I do right now to make this moment more full?”

Remember, you don’t need a bucket list to live a life filled with purpose, passion, and joy. All any of us need is the courage to embrace the present moment and the curiosity to see where it takes us.

Here’s to living an expansive life in full bloom, one beautiful moment at a time!

With love and empowerment,

Ditch the bucket list and start living the life you dream of in this present moment…right now.
