Love Letter #68: International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day today, I am reflecting on interconnectedness and empathy. This day goes beyond celebration; it prompts me to contemplate the interconnectedness of humanity.

Each experience and challenge of women globally affects all of us.

We are inextricably connected by an invisible thread of Life itself. All life breathes together. What happens to you, happens to me. Perhaps not in the literal sense, but we are not separate from one another no matter where or how we live. What we hold in our consciousness becomes part of the collective consciousness.

I am well aware I speak to this from a place of tremendous privilege as a white woman of means. I also believe we are experiencing a global shift in consciousness. That the chaos in the world today is an old paradigm struggling to stay in control.

While painful to witness, as we move into a higher dimension, it cannot survive.

Living with higher consciousness means understanding this and still working for justice and equality for all in whatever way we are called to be.

Here’s what I mean by this.

What I hold in consciousness enters the collective; the greater consciousness that we are all part of. We are all united in this collective consciousness. So, if I am judgmental, critical, hurtful, fearful, or hateful. I am putting that energy into the collective. There is no choice here, it simple is part of the vibrational energy of the planet and there is a lot of this in the world right now.

I can either cooperate with what’s happening by adding my own hatred and judgment to it; I can resist it and push against it which only allows it to persist, or I can change it by putting into it the thoughts, energy, and vibration of what I want to see in the world. The third option is the only one that feels empowering to me and I truly believe this is how we create change. By putting our energy, attention, and focus on what we want.

For me, working with women to embrace their authentic self, to love themselves unconditionally is vital. Our lives often revolve around perfectionism ingrained in patriarchal norms, fostering competition instead of the recognition of our wholeness and worthiness, for ourselves and each other.

I have to admit, this is a continual journey for me. One that I am committed to navigating with compassion and empathy, leading to self-reflection, growth and action.

Today, my aim is to leverage my privilege for positive change, envision a world where every woman leads a life of dignity, fulfillment, and equality.

When we set ourselves free, we are then free to help other women do the same.

This transformation begins with me, and I invite you to join me.

Happy International Women’s Day.
