Stop Hiding Your Brilliance!

If you’re following me on Facebook, you know that I’m participating in a Facebook Live video challenge for the next 10 days. Today is day 2. The Share Your Heart, Show Your Work challenge is the genius of life coach, Allison Crow. I’ve been following Allison for quite a while. Her work really resonates with me. Recently, I set an intention to become more visible, allow more people to see and know me, and widen the circle of women I serve. Enter Allison’s challenge and the door is open to stop hiding.

I asked. The Universe answered.

Of course. The Universe also has a sense of humor. This challenge is a practice in taking my own medicine so to speak. Practicing what I teach, which is empowering women to live into their dreams. One of my dreams is to do the work I do on a bigger scale, to reach more women who want to live a kickass life. I can’t hide and be visible at the same time. Let this new adventure begin!

Day 1 was interesting. I found myself procrastinating, finding lots of ‘things’ to do to put off what I know I want to do. I’ll bet you do this to. You have a brilliant idea, something you’d love to do. It’s a little scary, but mostly you feel excited. Then, as you get started, you notice the dishes in the sink, the pillows need fluffing, and the basement needs cleaning.

My inner critic, or inner lizard, is a perfectionist. She’s afraid I won’t ‘get it right’, so she looks for things to do. The irony is, I don’t even know what that means ‘getting it right’.  Somewhere in my box of BS (beliefs) there’s an old story that right equals perfect, and perfect is right. Right out of the gate, day 1, I can see this challenge stirring up my BS. Time for me to get out of my own way.

Dreams don’t die because of failure.

They die because they never get off the ground because of self-doubt, or in my case perfectionism (which essentially is the same thing). When we’re living into our dreams, we’re moving, continually, into the field of the future. We’re living into a new version of ourselves which means feeling into the unknown and learning to become comfortable there. Let’s be honest, most of us fear what we don’t know in some way or another. We wait for the perfect time, the perfect conditions, the perfect something before we move.

Dreams take root in our hearts, and exist in the unknown field of infinite potential and possibility. They live in the place we haven’t yet allowed ourselves to venture, except perhaps in our hearts. Dreams and desires are what I call ‘divine assignments’, the souls calling. The dreams and desires we have are divinely inspired by a higher power, whatever name you may give it. They aren’t random or crazy, nor are they impossible. To stop hiding, in whatever way you are called to do, is to live into those dreams and desires and follow your bliss, as Joseph Campbell said. You’re here to do what comes brilliantly, inspirationally, and naturally through you. To be who you are meant to become.

Know that you are a brilliant, powerful, beautiful, creative, magnificent goddess.

You hold the power to follow your bliss, to live into your dreams. There is magic within you. I suspect, like me and many others, you’ve been hiding much of your brilliance. How’s that working for you? Are you living your dreams? Are you living a kickass life? My dear soul sister, do yourself, the world, and the universe a favor…stop hiding your magic!

My adventure into this challenge continues with the day 2 assignment. I’m a little scared and mostly excited to see what’s in store. I’ll keep you posted. You can follow the challenge on my Facebook page or at #SYHSYWLive on Facebook. Come along and perhaps you’ll be inspired to take your own challenge and stop hiding your brilliance.
