An Amazing, Energizing, Four Weeks!

What an amazing, energizing, four weeks on the road! I’ve had my challenges too. I’ve loved all of it. Even the challenges contain blessings – sometimes it takes a little looking to find them. Like forgetting to bring my pillow from home. It forced me to buy a new one…which I have been putting off. Today, however, is my birthday, so I thought I would take a minute and share all that I’m grateful for in this moment.

I’m grateful for all those who’ve hosted me along the way (you know who you are). I appreciate your kindness, your hospitality, and your generosity. Thank you.

I’m grateful for the many people I’ve met along the way. I’ll return home with new friends and fond memories of conversations with people I’ll never meet again yet each one made the trip all the more enjoyable.

I am grateful to have witnessed the abundance of natural beauty and magnificence of this amazing land we inhabit.

I’m grateful for the experience of camping in my car and giving myself permission to choose otherwise when I need to. I’m grateful that I’m so much wiser and know how best to care for me.

I’m grateful for the technology that enables me to find my way across this vast land, and to keep in contact with friends and family back home.

I’m grateful for family and friends who check in, some on a daily basis via text message, to know that I’m OK and all is well. And, I’m grateful to hear a familiar voice now and again.

And, I’m grateful for home. I miss it, and I’ll be glad to return to it. For now, I’m grateful that I’m on this journey. The one around the country and the one called life. It took me a long time to learn to trust myself and follow where my intuition leads and I’m thankful I did.

What are you grateful for today?
