I Came to Dance
I’m not much of a painter as you can see. I am inspired with a vision in my minds eye yet it seems to get lost in translation to the canvas. That doesn’t stop me from letting whatever comes flow and see what surprises me. In setting intentions for this year, I envisioned myself dancing, and wanting my life to be a dance…free and flowing, graceful and fluid, playful and loving. It was the moment I realized I came to dance.
I came to dance with the highest idea of my life in this moment. To dance with joy and delight, to dance with grief and sorrow…because without them joy and delight would not taste as sweet.
Sometimes I dance as loudly and wildly as the wind and other times as gently as a light spring rain. I dance in stillness, in the inner sanctuary where I hear the whisper of spirit, the wisdom of the ancients, the song of life…make no mistake, even in the silence I dance.
I came to dance with the light and dance with the shadow. To dance on the earth and to dance among the stars. I came to dance with my soul, with your soul, with love, with life. Each is sacred yet each has it’s own rhythm. I came to dance.
What is it your soul is calling you to do? What others think about you doesn’t matter – that’s their perception of the world. You are made of stardust! Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle – especially not you. To quote the poet Mary Oliver, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” What would you like more of in your life? When will you dance your dance?
Peace…and happy trails
